CIEKAWA (in polish it means interesting
, but KAWA in polish means coffee
) is a cafe in Gdańsk, which was created on the initiative of the community and the PSONI foundation, to provide support in independent living for people with intellectual disabilities. This place was revived after a break with the help of the owner of the LEŃ cafe and needed a small visual makeover. In addition to serving delicious coffee, the coffee shop organizes pop-ups with local artists, where they run workshops and sell their products.

The rebranding of the identification was intended to build a new image of the café, moving towards syntheticity, simplicity and was to definitely differ from the previous appearance. This change was intended to: adapt to new trends and add readability, which was very important in a project that is aimed at people with unique needs.
Taking into account the new style of the interior and the needs of people with intellectual disabilities - we focused on the selected fonts being simple and we chose a strong purple, which is in a way strange and different, but in combination with black and white - contrasts are created and we maintain a synthetic style, which gives legibility to all elements. When we designed the signet, we paid attention to the letter C and its arrangement - it reminded us of the shape of a coffee cup, which when looked at from above forms a circle, but when you remove the handle of the vessel, a compressed C is created.
